01E: Unarmed Security Officer Training ( 2-day Course)

An unarmed security officer/courier means any person who performs the functions of observation, detection, reporting, or notification of appropriate authorities or designated agents regarding persons or property on the premises that individual is contracted to protect, and who does not carry or have access to a firearm in the performance of their duties.

Course Outline

The entry-level curriculum for unarmed security officer, armed security officer/courier, security canine handler, and alarm respondent sets forth the following areas identified as:

1. Orientation
   1. Applicable sections of the Code of Virginia and Regulations Relating to Private Security Services
   2. Code of Ethics
   3. General Duties and Responsibilities
   4. Signs of TerrorismLaw
2. Security Patrol, Access Control, and Communications
3. Documentation
4. Emergency Procedures
5. Confrontation Management
6. Use of force
7. Written comprehensive examination
